[edit] Get Software

You will need the following software (direct links):

Blender release (installer)

Python2.5.1 (installer)

PyXML (installer)

Python Imaging Library (installer)

blender2crystal (zip file)

cel and cs (zip file) (also includes celstart)

[edit] What to do with the files

[edit] Install the installers

For all the software that provides an installer just install as usual on windows.

Install Blender (if you don't already have it), Python, PyXML and Python Imaging Library using the installers.

[edit] Place blender2crystal under blender scripts file

Extract the files in blender2crystal zip file, and move everything under the scripts dir there to the blender scripts dir (usually .blender/scripts under blender install directory).

[edit] Extract cs and cel and set environment variables

Finally, for cs and cel you have to extract the zipfile somewhere and then set the CRYSTAL and CEL variables to point to the included cs and cel directories.

  • In Windows XP, to set the environment variables right click My Computer, select Properties, go to the Advanced tab and select the Environment Variables button
  • In Windows Vista, environment variables can be accessed by going to "Control Panel", then click "Classic View", then open "System", then go to "Advanced System Settings" which pops open a "System Properties" dialog with the "Advanced" tab selected, then click "Environment Variables" button.

Here set CRYSTAL variable to the directory path where you have crystalspace (the cs folder in the pycelstart zipfile), and CEL to the directory path where cel is located (the cel folder in pycelstart zipfile). If you dont want to use cel related stuff you dont need to set the CEL variable.

[edit] Load the overlay

Load blender. Hopefully under "File"->"Export" you should now see "Crystal Space". Click it and then quit the new gui that opens up.

Now under the blender buttons window in the "Script" context make sure that "enable script links" toggle is toggled and then click in the 3D window "View"->"Space Handler Scripts"->"Event: blender2crystal.py".

[edit] Test

On the new overlay, click export (under the last tab that looks like a cog wheel).

If all works you can go on with the Exporter Manual
